Florence's garden

The first project of the Autumn. Eventually I would like to create a sensory,  garden where Florence can explore different textures and smells. I hope that we can all have an input into this so all ideas will be gratefully accepted.

Clearing the area and cutting back the hedge to give some more room.Wire fencing in place to keep the wildlife out.

This is the after photo showing the bamboo screen in place and the ground cleared and level.

Two more before and after shots. The last one shows the mixed edging - sleeper, rock, log pile and log roll
.

I cut the top off the bamboo screen and made two insect hibernation homes.

Log pile showing the insect homes incorporated.

Introduction to my garden

This is my south facing bed from when it was looking it's best earlier in the year. Most of my posts will probably revolve around this space and what I'll be aiming to achieve here each year.
Apart from a little bit of ericaceous feed for my acid loving plants I'm an organic gardener. I aim to attract as much wildlife to my garden as possible and I don't mind the odd weed if it looks good and isn't too invasive. When it comes to plant tastes I like drama, knocked back with something subtle and natural looking.
