An early taste of Spring

26th February and this buff tailed bee was busy gathering pollen.

Greenhouse Spring clean

After nearly 20 years I thought it was time for a clear up!

All cleared out.

The new staging in place.

Veg seeds ready to sow.

A bit early for most but broad beans in.

Time crapse

As an experiment, I did a time lapse of my garden from last February to this.
I found focusing on one plant per viewing works best. The tetrapanax (tropical plant in front of shed) is particularly good.
The banana tree to the right obscures my south facing bed but my hope this year is that the banana will grow tall enough that I can see the bed under the canopy.
(If anyone from the BBC natural history department is seeing this, my services are available at very reasonable rates!)

What's all that white stuff?

Barnaby's first view of snow.

He soon got to like it and went mad. Good for digging in, charging around in and eating!

Oh no snow!!

After a really mild winter along came this lot.

Hopefully all the young plants in the greenhouse are OK

The tree ferns look a bit sad but should spring back when I knock the snow off.
